Handover of Classroom Block to Community

Hima Cement is thrilled to announce the successful completion and handover of a four-classroom block and staff room to St James Secondary School in Kapsinda Sub-County in Kapchorwa District.

This donation represents a commitment to fostering education and community development among our host communities.

The handover ceremony, held on 29th March, was attended by District Leaders, local community, parents and students. The event featured speeches that highlighted the collaborative effort behind the project, emphasizing the value of education in empowering the community's future generations. The need for a secondary school in this sub-county had been a top priority for the local leaders as students were walking long distance to go to the nearest school.

The Hima Cement CEO, Jean-Michel Pons expressed his gratitude to all involved parties, including local authorities, the construction team and community leaders, for their unwavering support throughout the project.

“We view our host communities as collaborative partners in our journey towards a better tomorrow. We are committed to leaving lasting positive impacts on the communities where we operate, ensuring a meaningful legacy for our hosts," he added.
