Hima Cement Receives UNDP Gender Equality Seal
 

Kampala – Hima Cement, a member of Holcim Group, has received the UNDP Gold Gender Equality Seal. The award ceremony, hosted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Private Sector Foundation in Kampala, took place on the 8th of December 2023 at Kampala Serena Hotel.

The UNDP Gender Equality Seal Certification is designed to promote and acknowledge best practices in gender equality, with a focus on enhancing women's economic and social empowerment. It reflects the company's unwavering commitment to fostering gender equality within its organization.

Hima Cement understands the importance of diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. The company has implemented progressive policies and initiatives to ensure a supportive and equitable environment for all its employees. As part of its commitment to gender equality, Hima Cement has pioneered innovative initiatives such as the 'Women on Wheels' program where 63% of the company’s fleet of trucks is driven by women.
